Julia Sims (she/her) is a Philadelphia-based actor and teaching artist. She holds a B.A. degree in theatre and acting from Temple University.

She began acting at a local film camp 13 years ago, where she made embarrassing (yet endearing) short films with other awkward fifth graders. Shortly after, she saw a local high school's production of Beauty and The Beast and knew that she had to play Babette one day on stage. The French and flirty feather duster captured her heart. And Babette ended up being her first theater role in high school (pictured below). *

Julia believes in the power of escapism, the power of catharsis, as well as theater and film for education and theater and film for social and political change. With her experience ranging from classical plays to new work, as well as the positive impact this art as on her students, she hopes to always stay creative and never stop learning.

*In her first entrance as Babette at the senior citizen matinee, after confidently saying "Bonjour, Monsieur!", she tripped over her costume and fell down two flights of stairs. She has accepted that she will never be this funny again.
